Ali joined the Molecular Entomology Laboratory (MOLEN) in 2022, bringing more than 27 years of academic and research experience in insect pathology and biological pest control. His expertise centers on the discovery, molecular characterization, and formulation of entomopathogenic microorganisms, with a strong focus on developing innovative microbial biopesticide technologies for sustainable agriculture.
He earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Plant Protection and Agricultural Entomology from the University of Tabriz, Iran, and completed his Ph.D. in Insect Pathology at the University of Agricultural Sciences (GKVK), India. Prior to joining MOLEN, he served as a faculty member at Azerbaijan Shahid Madani University and Maragheh University, where he supervised more than 30 M.Sc. and Ph.D. students.
At MOLEN, his current research focuses on the development and optimization of microbial biopesticide formulations targeting major agricultural pests, with particular emphasis on improving efficacy, environmental safety, and shelf stability.
Ali has authored over 60 peer-reviewed journal articles, more than 40 conference proceedings, and five books and book chapters, making substantial contributions to the advancement of microbial pest management and biocontrol formulation science.
